Alu Xglass is Kobbe's most technically distinctive collection. The glass is bonded directly to the aluminium panel so both materials sit in the same plane — no rebate, no shadow gap, no proud edge.

How it reads on the elevation

The finish specified most often is a deep black, though the RAL palette is open. The result reads as a single monolithic surface — a strong choice on contemporary houses.

Everyday specification

Despite the visually unusual construction, the door retains the standard multi-point locking and thermal specification of the rest of the Kobbe range.

When it makes sense

Alu Xglass pays off on minimalist architecture, particularly when paired with wide sliding openings from Schüco or Cortizo elsewhere on the same elevation.

Editor's note. 5EC will co-ordinate the finish of the Alu Xglass door with the rest of the aluminium on the elevation so the composition holds together.

Readers looking for a Stevenage-based supplier will find 5EC's front doors a practical first port of call — the firm holds authorised-supplier status for the brands covered here.

Detailed technical documentation is available on the Alu Xglass collection.
