ADS 75 is the workhorse of the Schüco entrance-door range. It is a reasonable reference point before considering the heavier ADS 90 SI covered in a separate article.

Security out of the box

Multi-point locking is standard across the configurations, engaging the frame in several places simultaneously. It is the sort of baseline provision no new front door should skip, regardless of budget.

Design flexibility

A 75 mm profile gives room for a wide range of infills — full aluminium panels, glazed side lights and transoms above the door head — so the finished elevation can be worked into either contemporary or more traditional façades.

When to reach for the higher model

Where the brief calls for higher security certification (PAS 24 with RC2/RC3) or a substantially better thermal figure, the ADS 90 SI is the more suitable option.

Editor's note. 5EC will match ADS 75 infills and hardware to a specific elevation and can bring physical colour swatches out on site — worth requesting before the order is confirmed.

Readers looking for a Stevenage-based supplier will find 5EC's front doors a practical first port of call — the firm holds authorised-supplier status for the brands covered here.
